Our multi-award winning butchers business is located on our farm in the Girvan Valley, in the heart of Ayrshire, South West Scotland.

Our Location
Nestled in the Girvan Valley, we are located in the heart of Ayrshire, South West Scotland. Only three miles from the coast of the Atlantic Ocean, we are surrounded by stunning scenery and breathtaking views.
We benefit from the mild, oceanic climate and light, free draining soils - a perfect environment that ensures that our farm animals can be outdoors for most of the year and live relaxed and natural lives.
Our butchery business currently operates from a purpose built plant that was constructed on the outskirts of our farm land in 2009. This plant operates as a centralised boning out, manufacturing, storage and distribution centre and also incorporates our administration office. We hold a full UK EU cutting plant licence and also SALSA (Safe and Local Supplier Approval) certification so you can be assured that we are operating to the highest standards of product safety, legality and quality.

Our Farm
Cairnhill is a mixed farming enterprise incorporating livestock rearing and crop growing. Over the generations, the farm has grown and now encompasses four farms covering 650 acres, all run alongside the butchery business from the home farm base at Cairnhill.
The beef herd is mainly Angus and Limousin crosses finished on the farm, while the pigs are British Saddleback and Peetrie cross bred.
Our cattle and pigs live relaxed and natural lives in a perfect environment on a healthy and well-balanced diet (free from artificial hormones, growth promoters and antibiotics). The cattle live outside for most of the year, except during exceptional wet weather in midwinter, when they are moved into warm straw-filled barns.
We also grow arable crops such as wheat, barley potatoes and beans which are used for animal feeding (Made to Alex's own special recipe).
